Book Mail!!! I’m super excited to receive an ARC (Advanced Reader’s Copy) of Widow’s Point by Richard Chizmar and W. H. Chizmar.  Widow’s Point will be published on September 30, 2025. Gallery Books will publish Widow’s Point.

Widow’s Point is about a haunted lighthouse. The lighthouse was constructed in 1838, and since then, deaths have occurred in or around it for decades. The lighthouse was shuttered in 1988, and a security fence was placed around it. The lighthouse is now a supernatural cornerstone. No one has entered until now.  Stephen King says this about Widow’s Peak – “Creepy as hell and totally original… The perfect scary story for a dark and stormy night… as long as the lights don’t go out.”

Richard Chizmar excels at creating haunting dread. The dread that slowly creeps up on you. I read and loved Memorials by Richard Chizmar. It is about college kids making a video school project about roadside memorials and the families the death affected. But when they start really looking at memorials, they notice the same strange symbol on all of them. Also, I loved Moving Day which was a short story in The End of the World As We Know It: New Tales of Stephen King’s The Stand. In my review, I said, “Chizmar deserves a slow clap.” I admired how he worked his connection to The Stand into the story.

The ARC was signed by Richard Chizmar, which was very cool. I was excited to attend a book signing for The End of the World As We Know It: New Tales of Stephen King’s The Stand at Vortex Books and Comics. He was originally going to sign there with other authors. However, he changed to the Maine location to be with Stephen King.  So I missed him, but now I have a book signed by him.
