November-December 2024 TBR list: Hello Readers, The last two months of the year are upon us. I combined my TBR list this year. December is usually a horrible month for my TBR list. I typically work 60 hours per week for my job.  I have a lot of books I want to finish this year that are published this year. I take my end-of-the-year list very seriously and have only read 13 books written in 2024 so far. I only have three really strong books that should be on the Best of 2024 list. I need more! All the books for this TBR list were published in 2024.

The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley sounds like an interesting book. A woman must connect with a commander. He was saved via time travel from a failed 1847 Arctic expedition. Now, the general must live with an unmarried woman from a different time. The Ministry of Time was published on May 7, 2024.

How to Solve Your Own Murder by Kristen Perrin is a murder story in England. The plot is about a rich reclusive aunt. As a teenager, a fortune teller told her how she would die. She has lived her life around this prediction. Her niece is invited to the residence to inherit the estate but the aunt is found dead under unusual circumstances. The cover looks fun I saw this book on a Best of 2024 list and wanted to check it out. How to Solve Your Own Murder was published on March 26, 2024.

The Last Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton is a high-concept murder mystery. The plot is a killer fog destroys the world. One island is safe thanks to 3 scientists who live with a hundred and twenty-two villagers. When one scientist is found dead the defenses start lowering as well. Part of the security system to protect the fog wipes everyone’s memory of what happened the night before. Stuart Turton always writes mind-bending stories. The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle made my brain hurt. I loved it.  The Last Murder at the End of the World was published on March 28, 2024.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen is a mystery about a dead nanny who plunged to her death. After the incident, a nine-year-old girl who collects sharp objects refuses to speak. Sarah Pekkanen usually writes with Greer Hendricks, but she is solo this time.  I’m a big fan of the team but am all for a writer like Pekkanen exploring. I received House of Glass thanks to Netgalley for giving me a free copy. House of Glass was on August 6, 2024.

Breaking the Dark by Lisa Jewell is a novel featuring the Marvel Comics character Jessica Jones. This is the first book in the Marvel Crime series. I love the character of Jessica Jones a sassy retired superhero who moonlights as a private investigator.  This mystery takes Jessica to the UK. She investigates twins who have different personas. They now have flawless skin after staying with their father in the UK. Breaking the Dark was published on July 4, 2024.

Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman is a horror story. It is told by an eight-year-old girl. She is haunted by an entity she calls “Other Mommy”. Malerman writes great horror that really sticks with me. Bird Box is a horrific read.  I received this book thanks to Amber Reu from Novel Nightmares. Incidents Around the House was published on June 25, 2024.

The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore by Laurie Gilmore is the second book in the Dream Harbor book series. I just finished The Pumpkin Spice Café and fell in love with the town. My favorite side characters were Noah and Hazel so I’m happy to read their story. The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore was published on August 29, 2024.

Bride by Ali Hazelwood is about an alliance between Vampyre bride and an Alpha Werewolf. Bride sounds like a crazy paranormal romance that I could seek my teeth into. The cover art is beautiful. Bride was published on February 6, 2024.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune is a sequel The House on the Cerulean Sea. The House on the Cerulean Sea was one of my favorite books of the decade. This book made me ugly cry in its heartwarming tale of intolerance. The sequel changes perspectives from Linus to Arthur.  It is about Arthur’s past and the future of the magical children. I loved the first book so much. I hope this book lives up to it. Somewhere Beyond the Sea was published on September 10, 2024.

Harley Quinn: Redemption by Rachael Allen is a novel about the younger years of Harley Quinn. This is the third book in the DC Icons: Harley Quinn series. The first two books in the series have blown me away. I can’t wait to finish this trilogy. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are now together to solve a mystery about missing girls. Harley Quinn: Redemption was published on April 23, 2024.

The Women by Kristin Hannah is a historical fiction set in 1965. A nursing student decides to join the Army Nurse Corps when her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam.  The Four Winds was my favorite book of 2021. I need to read more of her work. The library does say it will be ready in 7 weeks, which cuts it close.  The Women was published on February 6, 2024.
