June 2024 TBR list: last month I read all six books from my monthly TBR. I set my reading goal at 75 books for this year and have so far read 30 books.  This month will be a mix of books from the library, rereads, and one NetGalley advanced reader’s copy and this month will be the same.

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles This will be my third Amor Towles book and I have liked and recommended them all. He writes historical fiction that feels timeless as it is a story grounded in a past time but reflects today’s dilemmas. The Lincoln Highway is in my top five books from the 2020s. This book has a lot of acclaim and was adapted into a limited series on Showtime starring Ewan McGregor.

System Collapse by Martha Wells is book 7 in the Murderbot Diaries series. I’m always up for a Murderbot adventure. I have fallen in love with this series and have eagerly been awaiting it to come in at the library. The series has had hits and misses but maintained a 4-star average.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown is a book that floored me when I read it. It is Hunger Games in space with mythology thrown in. This is a book I’ve been dying to read again and review it way better than I did years ago before I started running a book blog.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch is another that I read before doing to blog but I was floored by its deep science fiction.  It has just become an AppleTV+ show starring Jennifer Connelly and Joel Edgerton. I did just get pre-approved for Run Blake Crouch’s new novel coming out in October.

The Eyes Are the Best Part by Monika Kim is a debut psychological horror about the making of a female serial killer from a Korean-American perspective.  I selected this book on the cover and the description.  I’m reading this book thanks to Netgalley and Kensingston Books. Eyes Are the Best Part will be published on June 25, 2024.

Goosebumps – How I Learned to Fly by R. L. Stine is Goosebumps book 52 in Goosebumps Original Series order.  An old book is found teaching human flying lessons. Can the knowledge be a bad thing only in R.L.Stine’s hands? I only have 11 more left then I’m done with the series it has been so much fun.
