October 2023 TBR list: last month was not a success I read 3 books out of 4 on my TBR, but I worked a lot of overtime last month, but this month should be better for reading. I’m going to place 6 books on my TBR with me carrying over 1 book from last month Black River Orchard . I have 4 advanced reader copies to review. It is that spooky season so all books on the list will have a horror element.

Black River Orchard by Chuck Wendig is a horror book about seven strange trees that begin bearing magical apples. Which is all I need for a Chuck Wendig book, he’s slowly became on of my favorite authors, that always delivers.  He has written on of my favorite books in the last ten years with the Wanders.  I have not read any truly great horror this year and hope this book is what I need. Thanks to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine, Del Rey for giving me an advanced reader copy.  Black River Orchard is published on September 26 2023.

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson is a classic horror novel from 1959.  I read and loved We Have Always Lived in the Castle years ago and have wanted to read the classic The Haunting of Hill House.

A Haunting on the Hill by Elizabeth Hand is the first ever authorized by Shirley Jackson’s estate too return to The Haunting of Hill House.  I’m reading the original first then the continuing of the story.  I watch the Haunting of Hill House Series on Netflix and will be telling how these stories relate to that.  Thanks from Netgalley and Mullholland Books for giving me a free copy.  A Haunting on the Hill is published on October 3, 2023.

The Hunger: A Marvel Zombies Novel by Marsheila Rockwell is A Zombie Infestation breaks out and Doctor Stange who hasn’t fully formed to a Zombie realizes other realties could be doomed if the hunger takes over before he can protect them. The Novel features Deadpool as well.  Thanks to Netgalley and Aconyte books for giving me a copy.  The Hunger: A Marvel Zombies Novel is published on October 3 2023.

Slime Doesn’t Pay by R. L. Stine This would be my first R.L. Stine that is not a Goosebumps Received a copy because I have read and reviewed so many Goosebumps from Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing.  The Cover looks pretty horrifying. Slime Doesn’t Pay was published on September 26 2023

Stranger Things: The Other Side by Jody Houser is a graphic novel that tell what happened to Will Byers on the other side through the events of season 1 of Stranger Things. I’m a huge Stranger Things fan and have read one off shoot novel so far called Darkness on the Edge of Town about Hopper before the events at Hawkins and really enjoyed it.
