August 2023 TBR list: last month I read 5 books, which is 1 below my Average of 6 books. I have not made a to be read list in two months due to overtime at work. But now I’m back at it and have some great books to read this month. I’m just adding 4 books to my TBR but hope to read a lot more.

Fairy Tale by Stephen King is a modern day fairy tale, with some elements of horror thrown in. Fairy Tale is a bout a teenager being let in on a secret portal to another land by a dying man. Some of the reviews are saying this is one of his better books in the last couple of years. I’ve read 12 Stephen King books since I started this blog and can’t wait to see where this book ends up. I’m a pretty big Stephen King fan and read at least one of his books a year.

I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makkai is a mystery/thriller about a film professor that gets invited to teach a course at her old college. The college where her roommate was murdered. Coming back leads to questions and a different perspective, does she hold the key to the murder? This is a book a couple friends have recommended me with some putting it in their best of 2023.

Horse by Geraldine Brooks is a fiction book that is based on a true story. The book combines three decades 1850, 1954, and 2019. The book is about a Black horseman and a horse painter during the Civil War. How the paintings tell history and influence science. The novel sounds wonderful, and has been very well reviewed.

Egg Monsters from Mars by R. L. Stine the Egg Monster has sunglasses this story is going to be weird and I’m ready for it. Some bloggers have called Egg Monster from Mars the weirdest Goosebumps story ever. This is Goosebumps Book 42 in original series order.
