February 2023 TBR list: last month I read 4 out of 6 on my TBR List. I set my reading goal for the year at 85 books and am already behind. I will pick 6 books but plan to read more. I have my two carry overs from last month, one that I have started and am half way through the epic 1,000 page Chesapeake by James A Michener.

Don’t Fear the Reaper by Stephen Graham Jones is the sequel to My Heart is a Chainsaw that takes place 5 years later. I thought My Heart is a Chainsaw was okay there was parts I really enjoyed and some parts I didn’t like. The story itself was a good one and the story for this one about an escaped serial killer seeking revenge. I get to read this book thanks to Netgalley and Gallery Books it is published on February 7 2023

Blood Work by Michael Connelly is book 8 in the Harry Bosch Universe. This book was turned into a movie by Clint Eastwood, and is not about Harry Bosch but Terry McCaleb who was mentioned in Angels Flight the last Harry Bosch book. It’s a great story of a killer that loves the cat and mouse games so much that he kills a guy with the exact blood match so the detective can get a heart transplant he needs, to continue the games. Terry makes it his mission to solve the murder of the victim that gave him a new heart.

All Hallows by Christopher Golden is a Halloween Horror taking place in the 1980’s I did not read any good Horror in 2022 So Netgalley and St. Martin’s press gifted me one to start with. The cover looks awesome. The plot about 4 kids new kids in vintage Halloween mask hide from the Cunning Man who wants to kill them, as they get help from their new friends on Halloween. All Hallows is published on January 24 2023.

Chesapeake by James A. Michener is an epic 1,000 page book telling the story about generations of settlers to the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding rivers. I’m half way through and it is pretty epic how you go through generations of family. Starting in the 1500’s to 1978. The book is fiction with a lot of historical research. My Father in Law loved Texas and got me to check out Michener.

Batman: Knightfall Volume 1 by Chuck Dixon – Knightfall was the big Batman event comic series of 1993. I was 13 and just starting to get into comics when this came out. I have read a quarter of this story up until Batman is broken but not seen the aftermath of the story after Batman was broken. Thanks to excellent graphic novel deals on kindle this Christmas I bought the whole series. This book introduces Bane and how he plans to break the Bat. I read Countdown to Knightfall last month and look forward to getting into this one, where Batman will be broken!

Goosebumps: The Haunted Mask 2 by R. L. Stine I loved the first Haunted mask so much and is one of my favorite of the 37 Goosebumps I have read so far. It gender swaps this time from a girl to a boy, and he goes to the same store that the makes of evil were sold how is this place still in business. What a good cover I usually prefer the 90’s covers but I love this new one.
