January 2023 TBR list: last month I read all 6 on my TBR List. I set my reading goal for the year at 85 books, which was 5 up from last year. I did hit my reading goal for last year of 80 books by reading exactly 80.  This year I plan to focus on books I own, and I own a lot both on kindle and physical, but end not to read as much as I should. I will still read a good amount of books published in 2023 at least one a month thanks to Netgalley.  I will continue reading the Goosebumps series, The Harry Bosch Universe, and the Sword of Truth series.

The Villa by Rachel Hawkins is a gothic thriller that takes pale at an Italian Villa with a haunting past.  I have never read Rachael Hawkins book before but am aware of the buzz she’s been receiving for The Wife Upstairs, and hope this book is as good. I just want a fun mystery for the start of the year. The Villa is published on January 3 2023, thanks to Netflix and St Martin’s Press for the early copy.

All Hallows by Christopher Golden is a Halloween Horror taking place in the 1980’s  I did not read any good Horror in 2022 So Netgalley and St. Martin’s press gifted me one to start with.   The cover looks awesome. The plot about 4 kids new kids in vintage Halloween mask hide from the Cunning Man who wants to kill them, as they get help from their new friends on Halloween.   All Hallows is published on January 24 2023.

Angels Flight by Michael Connelly is the 6^th Harry Bosch book but 7^th in the Harry Bosch Universe.  This book will be a reread for me I.  This was my first Michael Connelly but will be better since I’ll read it in order this time. I don’t remember too much about except really enjoying it, and seeking out more from the author.  The plot for this book is used for Season 4 of Bosch.

Chesapeake by James A. Michener is an epic 1,000 page book telling the story about generations of settlers to the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding rivers.  Starting in the 1500’s to 1978.  The book is fiction with a lot of historical research. My Father in Law loved Texas and got me to check out Michener.

 Batman: Prelude to Knightfall by Chuck Dixon – Knightfall was the big Batman event comic series of 1993. I was 13 and just starting to get into comics when this came out.  I have read a quarter of this story up until Batman is broken but not seen the aftermath of the story after Batman was broken. Thanks to excellent graphic novel deals on kindle this Christmas I bought the whole series.  This book introduces Bane and how he plans to break the Bat.

Goosebumps: Shocker on Shock Street by R. L. Stine is an ode to B movies.  With Kids who love Shock Street Horror go on a tour of the studio Thing they thought were only in the movies are real.  This is Goosebumps book 35 in original series order.
