Life Flight by Lynette Eason is a thriller with a hint of romance. This is the first book of a new series called Extreme Measures focusing on a different character in a connected universe, I guess like Bridgerton. Life Flight focus on two characters Penny, a helicopter rescue pilot and Holt a FBI agent with the narrative bouncing back and forth. Penny is the stand out character where I really enjoyed her scenes and the way she thinks. Holt had a couple of nice scenes but Penny steals the show. The plot of this story is pretty crazy, it reminded me of early James Patterson. The story was really easy to read and had a really good pace. There was a bad side plot that involved Holt’s sister which felt like it belonged in another book all together. I had fun with the plot even though it was such a stretch at times. The dialogue was really bad in some places that took be out of the story. Life Flight is me dipping my toes into the romance genre. I’ve always considered myself open with reading but romance is not something I ever really dipped into Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier be the closet thing. I had fun with a lot and was kind of shocked by the amount of dead bodies and some of the murders.

The Plot Summary: Penny is a helicopter rescue pilot that is getting forced down by an intense storm. She has to land on a mountain, the same Mountain that a serial killer prison escapee was last scene. Holt the FBI agent that was injured by the serial killer and once dated Penny is called to the mountain about the serial killer but also knows about the danger that Penny and her team are in. In an attempt to save Holt, Penny accidentally kills the serial killer that was stalking Holt. When the aftermath is over more bodies start piling up, this is not over and Penny and Holt are still targeted.

What I Liked: The Character of Penny was super interesting I wanted to spend more time with that character. I like the details of being a helicopter pilot. The twists are really fun and there is some good ones. I loved the final twist I figured out a couple pages before it was revealed but still enjoyed it. The killers’ plan was really crazy, I had too suspend a lot of belief but it was entertaining. I compared the plot to early James Patterson and I fell the villains and the plot would fit in that early Alex Cross universe. I liked the character of the stalker reporter and what happened with his character.

What I Disliked: Dialogue was pretty bad in a lot of places. The was little to know characterization to the words. The villains’ plan was fun but it test the reader with how much you have to suspend. The subplot about Holt’s sister was so bad and was so unnecessary. It did nothing to move the plt forward just to distract.

Recommendations: Life Flight is a novel you can love if you give into the crazy. I will compare it to a B-Movie, where the dialogue is not the best but the action is so appealing. if you suspend disbelief I thank you can enjoy this one. I rated Life Flight by Lynette Eason 3 out of 5 stars. I slightly considered 4 stars just based in pure fun.
